We humans have created quite a lot of words. In different languages. Some well known, some known only to ourselves. I want to start a weekly feature to share some with you. Words that are unique or fun to say. Forgotten or well-loved. I hope you find as much enjoyment in these words as I had in posting them.
Widdershins
Counterclockwise direction.
Flibbertigibbet
A silly, scatterbrained, or garrulous person.
Muckle
A large amount.
Chortle
A snorting, joyful chuckle.
Octopodes
Plural form of octopus.
Lackadaisically
In a lackadaisical manner; without enthusiasm or interest.
Coterie
A small, often select group of persons who associate with one another frequently.
Kenspeckle
Easily recognized, distinctive, conspicuous.
Bibliothecary
A librarian.
Nemophily
Fondness for forest scenery; love of the woods.
